Rockin' Green Diaper Detergent
Hey all, you are going to want to win this one, whether you’re currently cloth diapering or not. 
Kim, the creator of Rockin’ Green diaper and laundry detergent, started making her own diaper-friendly detergent when her kids had reactions to other brands. Now she sells her awesome additive-free detergent in so many different scents and formulas I’ve lost track of how many options there are. She has definitely proved that just because cloth diaper detergent is softener-, brightener-, and additive-free doesn’t mean it has to be boring.
Rockin’ Green’s Hard Rock formula busts through minerals in hard well water, Classic Rock is for ordinary tap water, and Soft Rock plays well with extra-soft water. I have tried the Classic Rock with our softened well water that varies quite a bit in hardness, and it brightened and freshened up my diapers after the first use. Now that I’ve largely switched to Rockin’ Green from my former detergent, I don’t notice a huge difference overall in performance anymore, since they both work well, but it sure costs less! A bag of Rockin’ Green will last anywhere from 45 to 90 loads of wash, depending on how much detergent you use, and costs about $14. The liquid detergent I was using before cost nearly $50 for the same number of loads. Yikes!
Kim just came out with all-natural scents, which is great news because my nose has been getting pickier by the day about artificial scents since I started switching our family’s personal products to natural alternatives. For this giveaway, Kim sent me a sample of her new Smashing Watermelons scent to try out, and I LOVE it. It smells like Sweet Tarts! I definitely think natural scents are the way to go, both from a scent standpoint and to do well by baby’s sensitive bum. The scent is only for your enjoyment as the diapers go into the wash, though. When your diapers come out, they should just smell fresh and clean. In order to get your diapers clean and all the detergent suds out, you should only be using 1-3 tablespoons of detergent with each wash load–my washer seems to work best with 1.5 tablespoons. That means this detergent goes a long way, which is such a relief after I spent so much on my first bottle of the other liquid I was using before I found Rockin’ Green.
