Innovative Diaper Cover Systems + Winner

AppleCheeks Cloth Diaper Raspberry Sorbet

Is this AppleCheeks diaper a pocket diaper? A diaper cover? Both, actually.

Winner of the CC Baby Crafts Diaper Cover

The winner of the CC Baby Crafts wool/cashmere diaper cover is Nikole Gee! Congrats, Nikole! I have emailed you. Please contact me within 72 hours to claim your prize.

Diaper Covers Now Do It All

Used to be diaper covers gave prefolds or fitted diapers a waterproof covering, and that was all they did. But these days, diaper makers are working hard to create a more versatile diaper cover. After all, many of us love both pocket diapers and diaper covers AND All-in-2s. What’s a diaper cover maker to do?

Grovia

Grovia is a good example of a versatile modern diaper cover. Grovia is actually an AI2 with snap-in inserts, but it can also be used as a diaper cover with reusable or disposable inserts. I find the reusable snap-in inserts to be too narrow on the Grovia diapers, but this diaper fits smaller babies amazingly well with prefolds. Some people love to use this cover with the disposable inserts while traveling.

Softbums Omni Sprout Cloth Diaper AI2

The Softbums Omni works as an AI2, a pocket diaper, AND a diaper cover.

Softbums

Softbums makes the Omni diaper, which can be used as an All-in-2 with a diaper insert, or as a pocket diaper when you tuck the snap-in insert into the fleece pocket liner. OR you can use the Omni as a diaper cover with a prefold underneath. Softbums are too trim to work well with bulky diapers underneath, though, so I would not recommend these for use with premium size prefolds or fitted diapers.

AppleCheeks

AppleCheeks makes a pocket diaper that uses a hemp jersey knit prefold as an insert. Because of this fabric, the system can be used as a prefold and cover as well. I’m glad of this, because the pocket opening is in an inconvenient place in the middle of the diaper (hello, wet middle of the diaper). I’ll tell you more about this tomorrow, when we’ll have an AppleCheeks giveaway. Yay! :)

What’s Your Most Versatile Diaper Cover?

Do you have a favorite diapering system that can transition from diaper cover to pocket to AI2? Please tell me all about it in comments.

Congratulations from one Nikole to another! I must admit though, when I saw ‘Nikole’ I got excited — it’s not that often that I come across someone with the same spelling :)
