You know you’re getting granola crunchy when you start trying natural soap berries, or soap nuts, to wash your laundry. These unique little balls are coated in saponified oils that naturally clean your laundry without detergents. They are biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and all that good stuff. And, as you can see from this photo, soap nuts are not just the original nuts anymore. They have been turned into entire product lines to more closely approximate the detergents you are used to.
I was blown away several months ago when I tried the original soap nuts on my laundry. They work great for regular laundry and even pulled Tide residue out of my washer I didn’t know was there. No other detergent has ever come close to that kind of cleaning power. However, both soap nuts and soap nuts concentrate seem to always fall a bit short in getting my cloth diapers clean. I recently tried EcoNuts brand soap nuts concentrate and had similar results again. Amazing for regular laundry, but for some reason not the right formula for getting my stash clean. Maybe it’s my water, maybe it’s how poopy our diapers have been. I don’t know. I have started using the concentrate as a pre-rinse aid instead, and I think it’s really helping in that capacity. Regardless, I highly recommend you try soap nuts products for yourself to see how they work on your diapers and laundry. At the very least, you may discover your washer wasn’t as clean as you thought it was. And you may be able to replace your detergent for clothes or cloth diapers with something that is as natural as it gets. EcoNuts. Even sounds like granola, doesn’t it?

I’m new to this. The only natural detergent I have tried is the bum genius detergent and I only had a sample pack.
I use Clean B for my diapers and Dawn for stripping
