Emory’s Gift: A Novel by W. Bruce Cameron Review

I met W. Bruce Cameron when we were both panelists at the National Convention for Newspaper Columnists in Detroit several months ago. He is the author of 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter and the bestselling novel A Dog’s Purpose, and is a syndicated humor columnist as well. He is a generally awesome and hilarious guy to know, so I am really happy to be able to offer you 7 chances to win his newest novel Emory’s Gift in this giveaway.

Emory’s Gift is the extraordinary story of a young boy dealing with the loss of his mother, and it would make a great gift for yourself or a friend. Publisher’s Week called Emory’s Gift “inspiring… a parable for our time,” and the Boston Patriot Ledger said the novel was “pitch-perfect… full of wonder… a story of faith.” I have to agree. I enjoyed Bruce’s previous novel, A Dog’s Purpose, but I liked Emory’s Gift even more. It seems to have story lines that weave together even more seamlessly, and really is a touching and uplifting read for the holidays.

I love that Oliver North invited him for an interview- that’s just odd, cool, and funny itself!

I absolutely loved ‘A Dog’s Purpose.’ The audiobook wasn’t as captivating though. I checked out the quotes section of his bio and they are totally spot on with the comparison of Cameron to Barry, except I would argue that Cameron is even more funny and touching than Barry. I really hope to get to read “Emory’s Gift”!

He is a pretty funny guy! I thought the part about how he gave up writing his first novel in the 4 th grade because his hand gave out was pretty humorous.

He is such a funny guy – years ago we emailed over one of his columns that had struck me as particularly funny – the few emails were quite hilarious – he can certain spin funny out of nothing! :) I also learned (well I already knew this) about his struggles to get published and the years it took him to get where he is today.

I learned that the he is crazily-commited to writing, and would even wake up at 4:30 in the morning to find time to write before going to his day jobs (back in the day!). That is so amazing, and his passion for writing has now paid off!
