Stonz Toddler and Kids Boots Review

I have been meaning to try Stonz Wear toddler and kid boots since my daughter was born, but the price always scared me off a bit. They cost $40 for the boots and another $15 for the warm fuzzy liners to turn them into super warm winter boots. However, that was before I realized how much all kids winter boots cost (like, twice that for performance winter boots!) unless you get them at a thrift store, and this year, with baby girl getting into the larger sizes, my luck ran out. So I was thrilled when I got the chance to review Stonz boots and bring you a giveaway. I also learned that online storesĀ  put these on sale occasionally to bring the price down. If you’re looking for a versatile boot for winter or a Christmas gift that might be just the ticket.

Stonz booties are made in Canada from a textured bottom sewn to a waterproof fabric top, just the same material you would see on a high-performance glove with textured palms. They have a toggle around the ankle and another around the top to tighten them around baby’s foot snugly. They look absolutely huge (and adorable! We’re constantly stopped on the street by swooning admirers with these), so your child might be able to wear them two years in a row if you wear them without shoes or possibly without liners the second year. I was a little confused at first when I received these boots because the outer layer was so large, but the liners prevented me from putting baby girl’s shoes on inside, and the soft bottom of these seemed to require shoes. Not so, actually. You can put shoes under them for sturdiness and warmth without the liners, or you can add liners and go without shoes for a softer boot. Baby girl seems to do just fine hopping over gravel in these without shoes, so I’m convinced they’re tough enough for most surfaces, and honestly I’m a little jealous that she gets to go Christmas shopping essentially in calf-high slippers. :)

The best part about Stonz is that they come in all different adorable prints that are bright and cheerful but subtle enough to match with your child’s coat. They also make matching gloves and soft reversible hats, plus rain boots with optional liners. You’ll want to be careful with this gift idea and giveaway, because once you try this brand, you’re probably hooked.
