Mommy’s Touch Potty Time Trainer & Easy Clean Diaper Review
Mommy’s Touch was the diaper I considered when I was first cloth diapering, because they are so affordable compared with many other pocket diapers. If you like standard pocket diapers, you will like this one-size Easy Clean Diaper from Mommy’s Touch, because it has all the basics with a super affordable price. One of the things I particularly like about the Mommy’s Touch diapers is their high rise, too, which is perfect for a long-waisted or tall kiddo. This means this diaper will fit your child longer than other pocket diapers if he is on the large or lanky side. I wouldn’t recommend it for super tiny newborns, but then most one-size diapers don’t work for preemies or small newborns anyway. The Easy Clean is a good all-around one-size pocket diaper if you’re looking for a versatile cloth diaper this holiday season. Plus, they come in unique prints like Antonio Bandana (a red bandana print), and are available in Aplix/Velcro or snap closure so everybody gets their favorite kind of diaper.
This was my first time also trying Mommy Touch’s cloth training pant, the Potty Time Trainer. It’s a slim fitting sleeve-style trainer with hip snaps, which to the potty training uninitiated just means you can stuff it like a pocket diaper for adjustable absorbency (openings in the front and back so the insert might shimmy out in the wash, too), and you can use the hip snaps to remove the trainer like a diaper when there are messes, to avoid dragging yuckies down your toddler’s leg. I was surprised how much I liked this training pant, actually. It’s very slim fitting, and you can use it without any extra absorbency for a basic training pant that doesn’t bulge, plus the pocket has a pretty small amount of space, so I found myself stuffing these with Red Barn Nifty Nappy velour inserts, which are like miniature prefolds. That gave us enough absorbency to leave the house, without resorting to a full diaper. These will leak when your absorbency runs out, so they’re only for kids who are really working at potty training (still convincing baby girl she’s interested in that), but these are definitely one of my favorite kinds of training pants to have in the stash. I think if you’re training before the kid is really into the idea, like we are, you need regular training pants as well as a few with adjustable absorbency, so you can use training pants while offering more leak protection. Unless you’re committed to locking yourself in the house until the deed is done, which I am not.
Crunchy Angel Boutique, the sponsor of this review and giveaway, is offering one of you the chance to try a Mommy’s Touch Easy Clean Diaper and another the chance to try the Potty Time Trainer today, but they carry a ton of other products as well. Check them out as you’re purchasing eco-friendly baby gifts this holiday season, and consider supporting a WAHM business instead of buying gifts at a chain store.
