Lovely Pocket Diapers Bumfetti Diaper Review
I founded 29 Diapers and wrote my book EcoFrugal Baby: How To Save 70% Off Baby’s First Year because I discovered while pregnant that it was possible to raise a baby green with high-quality, safe and stylish products for much less than the average parent spends on baby’s first year. That’s the same idea behind Lovely Pocket Diapers, which is why I’m so excited to bring you this review and giveaway today. Melissa, the founder of Lovely Pocket Diapers, started her company because she fell in love with cloth diapers but wanted to create a more affordable pocket diaper for moms who love them. Just like her, I was a little taken aback when I first discovered that pocket diapers cost nearly $20 apiece on average. Of course pocket diapers will save you tons of money long-term even at that price (thousands by potty training time!) but Melissa wanted to offer up a high-quality diaper for less. Her Lovely Pocket Diapers come in several varieties and only cost $12-12.50 apiece. Mission accomplished!
That means that if you purchased the similar BumGenius leading brand of pocket diapers, you could spend $540 upfront for a full stash of 30 diapers. With Lovely Pocket Diapers, you get more color and print options and would spend $375 on that same stash. The only thing missing from these diapers, which have sleeve-style openings and internal double leg gussets as well as rise snaps to grow with your child, is a second microfiber insert. We always needed extra absorbency even beyond the second insert that comes with most pocket diapers, so if you have a heavy wetting child you may offset your savings a bit stocking up on hemp inserts to double up with these. However, we always preferred hemp as a second insert anyway, since it takes the average pocket diaper from a 2-hour diaper to an overnight diaper, so you may want to do that anyway and you would have avoided paying for the extra microfiber insert you wouldn’t use.
Okay, enough with the nitty gritty. What you really need to know is that Lovely Pocket Diapers has this new, limited edition line of Bumfetti diapers that have contrasting color snaps and still only cost $12.50 each. Black with red snaps, lime green with black snaps. You’re just going to love these, as they are totally unique. We love our violet diaper with blue snaps. The fit is similar to a Tiny Tush, which is slightly larger than the mainstream pocket diapers and made out of soft and snug-fitting material on the outside with a micro fleece liner.
