I’m at the end of my journey to find the most affordable green replacements for my beauty and household cleaning routines! For a few bathroom cleaners and tricky products like pressed face powder I never quite found a workable equivalent to my old chemical-based products, but I have done pretty well! For anything I haven’t written about on this blog, I would recommend you try Method, Bon Ami, or Seventh Generation brand cleaning products when you don’t know where to turn, or Ecco Bella makeup. These brands have the widest selection of tough-to-replace items I found.
Today, I want to tell you about the last item I’m going to name specifically: JASON’s Apricot Scrubble foaming face scrub. It’s already hard to find a foaming scrub, allegedly because it’s not good to exfoliate your skin every time you wash your face. Well, my face respectfully disagrees. Until now, Neutrogena’s foaming scrubs were the best I could find to clear up my oily sensitive skin without overdrying or scraping. This scrub leaves my skin just slightly drier, but since I apply moisturizer morning and night after washing my face, it’s not noticeable or lasting. And my face is loving it. It really seems like the kind of wash I could use on an ongoing basis without having to switch it out with another product.
What kind of wash or scrub does your skin demand? Companies like JASON and Ecco Bella have whole product lines for different skins, and their gentler washes are super luxurious and made of natural ingredients, so if you are looking for a way to green your beauty routine, check them out. Apricot Scrubble runs between $20 and $30 at natural grocers and online retailers like Amazon.
