Kamik Toddler Snow Boots

Whether it's specialized toddler gear or just more of those same binkies, there is more stuff to nickel and dime you in year 2. But of course you don't have to let it!

I’ve written quite a bit about how to save money on baby’s first year while going green, but many of you have asked for more tips on saving money as baby starts to get a little older. So, here is a new section of the site for you, with tips to save you money in the toddler years. This section will be shorter than the baby gear section since you don’t need to buy as much stuff in year two, but you’ll notice that my tips and techniques change even though some of the categories like clothing are the same: Getting toddler clothing for free is a different game than getting baby clothing for free, and I’ll share my best tricks with you for going green with toddler gear on a tight budget.

I hope these posts are useful to you. And remember, if you can keep your baby budget the same as you move into year 2, you can stash even more money away into a college fund or savings, to make your money work even harder for you. Year two of baby’s life can be less expensive, but if you work just as hard to squeeze each dollar, you can come out even further ahead financially. Many blessings!
